1913 Gibson Style 0 with experimental internal bracing system
Elegant black finish on the top
Nicely figured birch back and mahogany sides.
Very radiused fingerboard and good volume and tone for this model
Crack free save the oh so common hairline heel crack
But inside are two longitudinal suspended slat type braces
They run the length of the guitar and are attached into slotted receptacles
on either side of the end block and fitted into the internal scroll recess and
into a block on the inside of the cutaway. They are suspended at the waist with
little buttress type blocks.
They are obviously original and possibly an experiment or prototype or custom order
With Gibson there are always more surprises in store
